About Wander South

Wander South is a travel blog penned by Brian and Dawn Crawford. We moved to North Carolina in June 2010 and these are our wanderings. We tend to write a lot about fun day trips, dog-friendly vacations, good eats, and funky shopping finds. Amble with us as we wander.

Dawn A Crawford – Wife, lady, child-at-heart, born to be a southerner. I live life loudly and without regret. While I was born in CA, my heart has always been in the south. My idea of a wonderful travel destination is where I can relax, absorb some culture, laugh and learn. As a communications professional, I want my life to be filled with passion, not dollar bills. I garden to make the world a more beautiful place. I’ve fulfilled my dream to live near the ocean. I enjoy everyday as if it was my last.

Brian D Crawford – Husband, master of the pen, dabbler in doodles. I’m a copywriter and creator by day. Born in AR, I’m glad to back home in the south. My idea of a perfect vacation is one where I get to spend the day with my family, eat some tasty food and learn a little bit more about our fascinating world. When I’m not writing, sketching (my drawing skills are unfortunate), creating, or taking pictures of my world, you can usually find me in my backyard garden or working. I’ve been known to write a bit, read a bit, and draw tragic sea monsters. Oh yeah, and I love space!

Herman J Crawford – Doggy, gentleman, tail-wagger. I have a nose for the ocean and a tail for adventure. My idea of a good day out is filled with lots of stuff to smell, a long walk and a few dog treats along the way. I like to ride the rails as a hobo, find new places to hang my lease and make my mark on the world.
